Patrick O’Neill Joins Mundill for 2009 Star Mazda Season

February 10th, 2009 – Angleton, Texas

Mundill is pleased to announce that Patrick O’Neill will be the latest addition to their driver roster. The San Francisco resident who hails from Ireland will compete in the Star Mazda Expert series.

An experienced Star Mazda driver, Patrick O’Neill first entered the series in 2004. Since then he has enjoyed great success in several different championships. In 2006 he won the SF SCCA Atlantic Championship, and went on to win the Molecule Challenge and the Jim Russell Pro Mazda series the following year. Last year O’Neill won the West Coast Star Mazda Championship.

“My goal for 2009 is to get as many wins in the Star Mazda Expert series as possible. I think the most important thing in racing is just to have fun, and being a part of the Star Mazda Championship is something all drivers should feel very proud of,” said O’Neill.

Mundill was created in 2007 by David Mundy and Jeff Hill, and has since then had an incredible progression in the Star Mazda Championship. In addition to Patrick O’Neill, Mundill has also signed Norwegian driver Anders Krohn for the season. With the pre-season testing program already commenced, Mundill’s focus is towards the season opener that will be held at Sebring International Raceway in Florida on March 20. The Star Mazda Championship features 13 races over 11 weekends, racing on Ovals, Street, and Road courses.
